W.E. Cundiff fifth grader Ellie McCormack (in front) was the grand prize winner of this year's "Team Up for Fire Safety" art contest. Her special prize was a ride from her home to school in a Vinton Fire Department fire truck. She is shown with (from left) parents Tiffany and Russ McCormack, Medic/Firefighter Fran Gonzalez, W. E. Cundiff Principal Ashley McCallum, Medic/Firefighter Zach Poole, and Vinton Fire/EMS Captain Chad Helms. They were met at school by Brian Clingenpeel, Community Outreach Coordinator for Fire and Rescue in Roanoke County, who coordinates the contest with sponsors from the Rockingham Insurance Group and Simmons Insurance Agency.
